Final Fantasy VII follows Cloud Strife, a former SOLDIER member, as he joins the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE to stop the powerful Shinra corporation from exploiting the planet's energy. Along the way, Cloud uncovers his own mysterious past and faces the rogue SOLDIER Sephiroth, who threatens the world with destruction. With allies by his side, Cloud must confront his past and prevent a catastrophe.
Gaia’s Guardian

Obtain all trophies.
This achievement is unlocked upon acquiring all of the other achievements listed on this page.
First Blood

Emerge victorious from your first battle.
You will acquire this achievement automatically once you successfully navigate through the initial battle of the game. This battle features Cloud (identified as Ex-SOLDIER on the battle screen) and takes place after he leaps off the train and arrives at Sector 1.

Breaking New Ground

Use a Limit Break.
This achievement is earned once you execute a Limit Break for the first time. Typically, this will happen quite early in the game.

Consummate Cross-dresser

Get Don Corneo to choose Cloud over the two females.
You can achieve this milestone when you arrive at Wall Market. To gain access to Don Corneo's mansion along with Aeris for the purpose of rescuing Tifa, Cloud and Aeris will engage in a minor scavenger hunt. This pursuit involves locating components of an ensemble within Wall Market, aiding Cloud in his transformation into a girl.

Securing admission to Don Corneo's mansion is quite simple, necessitating just two parts of the outfit. However, to earn the Consummate Cross-dresser Achievement, more than just mansion entry is required; Cloud must also be chosen by Don Corneo as his escort.
The likelihood of Don Corneo selecting Cloud rises to 100% if you manage to gather all four attire components, prioritizing the superior choices. For instance, opt for the Silk Dress crafted by the dressmaker instead of the Shiny Dress to enhance your chances.

Fledgling Summoner

Use a summon Materia in battle.
You will earn this achievement as soon as you utilize one of your Summon Materia. The initial summon available during a standard playthrough is the Choco/Mog Materia, which can be acquired at the Chocobo Farm on Disc 1.

Materia Mastermind

Raise a Materia to Lv. 5.
Earning this achievement requires you to level up a Materia to its maximum level of 5.
Best Bromance

Go on a date with Barret in the Gold Saucer.
Final Fantasy VII showcases a memorable moment known as the date scene, unfolding during the team's second sojourn to Gold Saucer. Depending on your choices throughout the game, you can potentially accompany any of the following characters:
Aeris
Tifa
Yuffie
Barret
The character from the team who joins Cloud on this outing is determined by the decisions you make during your playthrough, the responses you provide during specific dialogues, and the composition of your party during certain scenes. All of these selections influence a character's "affection score," a concealed metric that guides Cloud's choice of companion when the team reaches Gold Saucer.
To earn the Achievement called "Best Bromance," you must arrange for Cloud to embark on a date with Barret.

Chocochampion

Win the Chocobo Racing mini-game.
This achievement is earned immediately upon winning a Chocobo race at Chocobo Square in Gold Saucer. The initial chance to acquire this achievement arises during the inaugural race that takes place as the team strives to break free from Corel Prison. Following that, you gain the ability to register your personal Chocobo for participation in the races.

Corel’s Angel

Score 10,050 points or more in G-Biker the Gold Saucer.
To acquire this achievement, you need to achieve a score of 10,050 points or higher in the G-Bike mini-game. You can locate the mini-game within the arcade section of Gold Saucer, situated in Wonder Square (the same place where you initially encounter Cait Sith).
Exceeding the 10,050 point threshold primarily requires practice. However, here are some pointers that could assist you:
Place your bike as near to the screen as feasible when no other bikes are nearby. This positioning enables you to intercept them before they approach the truck.
Utilize Cloud's bike to forcefully collide with the adversaries.

Shuriken Join Us

Have Yuffie join your party.
You will unlock this achievement as soon as you find Yuffie Kisaragi, a hidden character, and defeat her in combat. After progressing through a series of dialogues, Yuffie will become a part of your party, and you will be automatically awarded the achievement.

Won’t You be My Valentine?

Have Vincent join your party.
This achievement is unlocked once you've completed the necessary steps to recruit Vincent Valentine into your party. Vincent is a hidden character who becomes available once you've arrived at Nibelheim with your party, excluding the flashback sequence that takes place in Nibelheim while the team is at Kalm.

Making Waves

Obtain the Leviathan Materia.
This achievement is earned upon acquiring the Leviathan Summon Materia. Leviathan is a recognition bestowed upon reaching the summit of the Wutai Pagoda alongside Yuffie.

Waiting in the Wings

Obtain the Bahamut Materia.
This achievement is earned upon acquiring the Bahamut Materia. Bahamut serves as a summon that you naturally obtain while progressing through the game.
You can acquire the Bahamut Summon Materia while exploring the Temple of the Ancients. There's a specific sequence that occurs after defeating the Red Dragon and before confronting the Demon’s Gate boss at the temple's conclusion. The Bahamut Materia, represented by a Red Materia, is dropped right in front of Cloud between these two sequences.

Coming Up All Nines

Obtain 99,999,999 gil.
This achievement is unlocked once you accumulate 99,999,999 gil simultaneously. It's important to note that this differs from earning a total of 99,999,999 gil over the course of the game. If you spend 10,000,000 gil, you'll have to earn that amount back. So, what's the most efficient and rapid approach to earning gil?
The simplest strategy for acquiring gil is to max out your All Materia to level 5 and then sell them, yielding an impressive 1,400,000 gil per piece. This does entail leveling up numerous All Materia, but you can utilize the Materia leveling tips to expedite this process considerably.
Liege of Leveling

Reach Lv. 99 with one character.
This achievement is unlocked upon reaching level 99 with one of your characters, the highest attainable level.
Attaining level 99 isn't a necessity for any of the side quests, even when facing the game's toughest bosses (Emerald Weapon and Ruby Weapon). However, it's probable that you'll naturally reach level 99 with one of your characters while working towards other achievements. Particularly, you'll amass a significant amount of experience points while leveling up your Materia for the Coming Up All Nines achievement.
Bahamutype-0

Obtain the Bahamut ZERO Materia.
This achievement is unlocked upon obtaining the Bahamut ZERO Materia. To acquire this Materia, you need to successfully preserve all four segments of the Huge Materia and secure the remaining two Bahamut Materia. The two necessary Bahamut Materia are as follows:
Bahamut Materia: Found within the Temple of the Ancients.
Neo Bahamut Materia: Located near the screen in the Whirlwind Maze.
Both of these Materia are subject to being missed. If you neglect to pick them up while in their respective areas (the Temple of the Ancients and the Whirlwind Maze), there's no way to backtrack and retrieve them.
The steps to salvage and safeguard the four pieces of Huge Materia are outlined in the Walkthrough section. Specifically, you must:
Rescue North Corel from the train with Cid and his team.
Defend Fort Condor from the Shinra attack with Cid and his team.
Defeat the Red Submarine during the underwater Submarine Fight sequence, then retrieve the Huge Materia from the submerged sub.
Reclaim the Huge Materia from Shinra Rocket No. 26 after being launched into space during the return to Rocket Town.
Once you possess both Materia and have secured all four Huge Materia, return to Cosmo Canyon. In the sequence with Bugenhagen at his observatory, inspect the blue Huge Materia and choose the "Get closer..." option. Cloud will come across the Bahamut ZERO Materia inside.

Roundtable Destruction

Obtain the Knights of the Round Materia.
This achievement is earned when you acquire the Knights of the Round Materia. Knights of the Round stands as the game's most potent summon, surpassing all others by a substantial degree. It is located within one of the Materia Caves, accessible solely with a Gold Chocobo.
Therefore, to attain this achievement, you must raise a Gold Chocobo and thoroughly explore each of the Materia Caves.

The Slash to End All Slashes

Learn Omnislash - Cloud’s last Limit Break.
This achievement is earned when Cloud masters his Level 4 Limit Break: Omnislash. Initially, you need to find the Omnislash item, which is used to instruct Cloud in his ultimate Limit Break.
Omnislash is among the accolades accessible within the Battle Arena of Gold Saucer. Once you possess the Omnislash item, the next step is to educate Cloud by ensuring he learns all of his Limit Breaks.

Loose Cannon

Learn Catastrophe - Barret’s last Limit Break.
This achievement is earned when Barret masters his Level 4 Limit Break: Catastrophe. To unlock this achievement, you'll need to locate the Catastrophe item first, which can subsequently be utilized to instruct Barret in his ultimate Limit Break.

The Catastrophe item is obtainable in North Corel once you've finished the Huge Materia segment of the narrative. It's important to note that successfully halting the train is not a prerequisite for acquiring the item.
Upon obtaining the Catastrophe item, you'll need to guide Barret through the process of mastering it by ensuring he learns all of his Limit Breaks.

Packing a Punch

Learn Final Heaven - Tifa’s last Limit Break.
This achievement is unlocked when Tifa successfully masters her Level 4 Limit Break: Final Heaven. Your first task is to locate the Final Heaven item, which can then be employed to instruct Tifa in her ultimate Limit Break.
You can discover Final Heaven in Nibelheim once you've progressed to Disc 2. To acquire it, you need to play the Final Fantasy VII theme on Tifa's piano, a task simpler than it might seem.
After obtaining the Final Heaven item, your next step is to guide Tifa in learning it. This requires her to become proficient in all of her Limit Breaks.

See the Light

Learn Great Gospel - Aeris’s last Limit Break.
This achievement is unlocked when Aeris acquires her Level 4 Limit Break, known as Great Gospel. The initial step is to locate the item called Great Gospel, which can then be utilized to instruct Aeris in her ultimate Limit Break.
The complication lies in the fact that Aeris can only master her Level 4 Limit Break before reaching Disc 2 of the game. It is essential to ensure that Aeris has learned her final Limit Break before entering the Temple of the Ancients. Failure to do so prior to entering or completing the Temple of the Ancients will forfeit the opportunity for Aeris to learn her last Limit Break, necessitating a game restart to attain this achievement.
Before making your way to the Temple of the Ancients, make a journey back to the town of Nibelheim where you parked the Buggy obtained after escaping Corel Prison. Drive the Buggy back to Costa del Sol and maneuver it directly into the town. Progress towards the area where the ship is anchored and compensate the sailor with 100 gil to return to Junon.
Depart from Junon, and you'll discover the Buggy conveniently situated just outside the town. Utilize the Buggy to travel eastward and utilize it for crossing a river. Keep an eye out for a small cave situated on the side of the mountains, as indicated in the provided screenshot.

Initiate a conversation with the slumbering individual inside the cave, who will share a random gameplay statistic. Each interaction yields a distinct random statistic. The aim is to coax the man into divulging the number of battles you've engaged in, focusing on instances where the last two digits of the battle count are both odd numbers.
For example, eligible numbers include 199, 233, 355, 177, and 99, while numbers like 200, 222, and 188 are not viable since they're even. Upon reaching the desired number by participating in battles, reengage the slumbering man in conversation. This will awaken him and he'll present you with a "Mythril" key item. If the man offers you a Bolt Ring, it indicates the last two digits were even; in such a case, continue engaging in battles.

With the Mythril key item in your possession, return to the Buggy and journey back to the vicinity of the Gold Saucer. Towards the southeast of the Gold Saucer lies a small house on a peninsula, inhabited by an individual who typically discusses the Keystone and its whereabouts. Offer the man the Mythril, prompting him to present a choice between two chests—one small and one large. The Great Gospel is contained within the small chest, located on the left side of the second floor.

Once you've successfully acquired the Great Gospel item from the house of the weapon vendor, the subsequent step involves instructing Aeris. This necessitates her mastery of all her Limit Breaks.

A Universe of Pain

Learn Cosmo Canyon - Red XIII’s last Limit Break.
This achievement is unlocked when Red XIII successfully masters his Level 4 Limit Break, known as Cosmo Memory. To attain this achievement, you'll need to first acquire the Cosmo Memory item. This item serves as the means to instruct Red XIII in his ultimate Limit Break.

The Cosmo Memory item can be found by unlocking the safe on the second floor of the Shinra Mansion in Nibelheim. During the process of completing the side quest to recruit Vincent Valentine as a hidden character, you'll automatically come into possession of the Cosmo Memory.
After obtaining the Cosmo Memory item, the next step is to guide Red XIII through the process of learning all of his Limit Breaks. This will enable him to fully grasp the contents of the Cosmo Memory item and unlock the associated achievement.

Meet Your Maker

Learn All Creation - Yuffie’s last Limit Break.
You will unlock this achievement once you find Yuffie Kisaragi, a hidden character, and emerge victorious in a battle against her. Yuffie will become a part of your party after you engage in several dialogue sequences, and you will be awarded the Shuriken Ally achievement right after she joins.

Wheel of Fortune

Learn Slots - Cait Sith’s last Limit Break.
This achievement is unlocked once Cait Sith masters his ultimate Limit Break: Slots. Unlike the Level 4 Limit Breaks mentioned elsewhere on this page, this one is notably simpler to acquire. You only need Cait Sith to emerge victorious in 40 battles, and he will promptly grasp this Limit Break. It's worth noting that, aside from Dice, this is the sole Limit Break he can learn.

Inner Demons

Learn Chaos - Vincent’s last Limit Break.
This achievement is unlocked when Vincent masters his Level 4 Limit Break: Chaos. To attain this, you need to first discover the Chaos item, which can subsequently be employed to instruct Vincent in his ultimate Limit Break.
The Chaos item is located within Lucrecia’s Crystal Cave, a hidden region accessible once you gain entry to the Shinra Submarine. Once you acquire the Chaos item, the next step involves guiding Vincent through the process of learning all of his Limit Breaks in order to incorporate the power of Chaos.

Gale Warning

Transcendant Convoker

Obtain the Master Summon Materia.
You will unlock these achievements automatically upon obtaining the Master Summon Materia. This Materia, along with the Master Magic Materia and the Master Command Materia, becomes available to you when you exchange the Earth Harp key item with the Kalm Traveler.
To acquire the Earth Harp, you must conquer the Emerald Weapon, one of the most challenging battles in the game.
Diamond Disintegrator

Defeat the Diamond Weapon.
You will unlock this achievement automatically after successfully overcoming Diamond Weapon in combat. However, it's worth noting that Diamond Weapon doesn't actually get defeated; it escapes from Cloud and his team before the battle concludes.
Diamond Weapon is an integral part of the game's main storyline, and you will naturally encounter it as you approach the conclusion of Disc 2.

Ruby Render

Defeat the Ruby Weapon.
You will acquire this achievement automatically once you emerge victorious in battle against Ruby Weapon. That being stated, Ruby Weapon presents itself as one of the most challenging encounters, if not the most, within the game.

Emerald Eviscerator

Defeat the Emerald Weapon.
You will acquire this achievement automatically upon your victory over Emerald Weapon in combat. Emerald Weapon stands as one of the most challenging encounters within the game, likely ranking as the second most arduous.

Failure IS an Option

Have your whole party fall in battle.
This achievement can be effortlessly acquired, and you'll likely unlock it unintentionally if your entire party gets defeated. There's no requirement to employ Phoenix Materia in conjunction with a Final Attack Materia to revive your party after their defeat, or engage in any elaborate actions. All you need to do is let all three party members fall in battle and witness the "Game Over" screen.
