Final Fantasy XIV Mobile to End Service in September 2026

LightSpeed Studios has announced that the Chinese version of Final Fantasy XIV Mobile for iOS and Android will cease operations on September 30, 2026. The development of the global version of the game has also been discontinued. Initially launched in China on June 19, 2025, the mobile adaptation of the popular MMORPG was met with enthusiasm and a promise of an expansive adventure ahead.

In a heartfelt message to players, the developers expressed their gratitude for the community's support, stating that players have played a crucial role in shaping the vibrant world of "Mobile Eorzea." They acknowledged the contributions from seasoned players who helped newcomers navigate their early experiences in the game, fostering a strong and welcoming community.

However, the announcement comes with the news that due to business adjustments and shifts in the market environment, Tencent and Square Enix have mutually agreed to terminate the licensing agreement for the Chinese edition of Final Fantasy XIV Mobile. As a result, the game will officially close down operations at 11:00 AM (UTC+8) on September 30, 2026. A message of apology was conveyed to players for not being able to fully meet their expectations, along with heartfelt thanks for their loyalty and support throughout the game's lifecycle.

Following the shutdown, player account data, including character information, will be deleted as per the Personal Information Protection Law, unless otherwise stipulated by law or agreements between Tencent and users.

With only 76 days left before the service ends, the Final Fantasy XIV Mobile (Chinese Edition) Operations Team has pledged to support players during this final stretch. They reiterated their appreciation for the community's involvement and the shared journey in building the game together.
