Ubisoft has announced the appointment of Christoph Hartmann as the General Manager of Creative House 2, a division that manages prominent franchises including Splinter Cell and The Division. Hartmann brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously founded and led the 2K Games label at Take-Two Interactive. After departing from 2K in 2017, he took on the challenge of leading Amazon's gaming division, a role he held until his exit in January.

Creative House 2 represents the second major business unit introduced in Ubisoft's extensive restructuring initiative. This new framework assigns Creative Houses full responsibility for key intellectual properties while being backed by central business teams. The first Creative House, which oversees franchises such as Assassin's Creed and Far Cry, has been rebranded as Vantage Studios and is managed by Charlie Guillemot, the son of Ubisoft's president, Yves Guillemot.
In the company’s press release, Ubisoft emphasized Hartmann's strategic role, stating that he will guide the long-term development of Creative House 2's portfolio. Yves Guillemot, co-founder and CEO of Ubisoft, expressed confidence in Hartmann's leadership qualities, highlighting his passion for gaming and his proven track record in nurturing creative teams and building enduring franchises. "Christoph is exactly the kind of leader we needed for Creative House 2, a passionate gamer with a proven ability to bring out the best in creative teams and build franchises that last," Guillemot remarked.
This strategic move marks a significant step for Ubisoft as it aims to reinforce its commitment to delivering exceptional gaming experiences through its revamped organizational structure.
Guillemot further elaborated on the potential of Creative House 2, noting that the talented teams at March of Giants, Massive, Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft Paris, and Ubisoft Toronto have a history of creating immersive worlds for players. He stated, "With Creative House 2, we are giving them the structure and support, to build the kind of intense, unforgettable experiences that remind players why they fell in love with games in the first place. That is what great games have always been about, and that is what we are here to make."
In addition to managing the established franchises, Creative House 2 will also include March of Giants, a free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game developed by a team of seasoned Ubisoft creators acquired from Amazon in December.
