Final Fantasy I Pixel Remaster Walkthrough – Part 10 – Lost Lufenia

After triumphing over the Kraken and restoring the Water Crystal, players should set their sights on Melmond to have the Rosetta Stone deciphered. This segment of the adventure doesn't introduce any new enemies or chests, allowing for a smoother journey.

To begin, players need to fly to Melmond and seek out Dr. Unne, who can be found in the northeast of the town, near the gravestones. Present him with the Rosetta Stone, and he will teach your party the Lufenian language, enabling communication with the inhabitants of a hidden city.

Once the Lufenian language has been acquired, the next destination is the north eastern continent. Players should land on the grassy area located east of the desert, just south of Gaia. From there, venture south through the forest to discover the concealed city of Lufenia.

Lufenia is home to the descendants of a sky civilization responsible for constructing the Flying Fortress. Engaging with the townsfolk reveals rich lore about Tiamat and the prophecy of the Warriors of Light, adding depth to the ongoing narrative. Additionally, players can visit two magic shops in the top right corner of Lufenia, which offer new Level 8 spells: Flare and Full-Life. These spells come at a premium price, but they are essential for the challenging battles that lie ahead.

In Lufenia, players can also find a crucial item known as the Chime, located in the southeast corner of the town. To acquire it, head to the northeast corner and then south to meet a Lufenian who will provide this key item, which unlocks the sealed entrance to the Mirage Tower.

With the Chime in hand, there’s little else to do in Lufenia. Before making the journey to the Mirage Tower, it’s advisable to stock up on items and equip the best available weapons and armor. The Mirage Tower presents itself as a dual dungeon experience, so preparation is vital.

To reach the Mirage Tower, exit Lufenia and board your Airship. Fly to the grassy patch located west of Lufenia and south of the desert. From there, navigate to the center of the desert where the Mirage Tower awaits. Players should be ready for whatever challenges this new location has in store.
